Description
A re-releasing of the long out of print and woefully underrated 1976 debut album by 15-60-75 (The Numbers Band) entitled Jimmy Bell's Still in Town. The album was recorded live on a night when the band opened for Bob Marley and the Wailers at Cleveland's storied Agora Theater. The recording fully captures the trailblazing sound that the Numbers Band produced---wild blues meets the early foundations of punk, mixed with soul and rock and roll. Those familiar with the band and record know that tracking down an original can easily cost triple digits. This rerelease (which has been beautifully remastered and recut from the original master tapes) will make this rare work available again in a limited edition run! Hailing from Kent, Ohio, 15-60-75 (The Numbers Band) is considered one of the forefathers of the Akron / Cleveland music scene of the 1970s, and their musical pedigree is pretty impressive---including members who would later go on to found Devo and siblings of the legendary Chrissie Hynde. The band is also considered an early influence on Pere Ubu. 15-60-75 continues to play in and around Kent, Ohio, and Robert Kidney was recently awarded a Cleveland Arts Prize lifetime achievement award for his decades-long contributions to art and music in OhioDetails
