Description

Castle Farm was a 1970s British hard-rock and blues band from northeast London. Known for their dual-guitar sound, glam elements, and proto-metal style, the group built a loyal live following supporting major acts like Deep Purple and Rory Gallagher.

Originally starting as a four-piece, the band evolved to include a dual-guitar attack with John Aldrich (lead guitar) and Gram "Tex" Benike (slide guitar). The rhythm section featured Denny Newman (vocals), "Spyder" Curphey (and later his brother Roger) on bass, and Steve Traveller (drums)

Despite performing regularly on the UK university and college circuit, the band disbanded before releasing a full-length album. They did self-release a rare 7-inch single in 1972, "Hot-Rod Queen" b/w "Mascot" on their own Farm Records. Decades later, their unissued early material was officially unearthed and pressed for the first time
